All moms: Let’s rock the world!

I’m a bit inquisitive of what MOTHER means so I consulted merriam-webster and this is what it says.

A:  a female parent (1): a woman in authority; specifically:  the superior of a religious community of women (2):  an old or elderly woman

Yeah, that’s it and it left me unsatisfied, of course so I typed in ‘etymology of mother’ and it is from Old English that simply means ‘female parent.’ My mind accepted the technical facts I’ve read but my heart is shouting that they should have written more.

If I have to give my own connotation to ‘MOTHER’ I would probably end up writing a 206-pager essay to really elucidate, interpret, clarify, expound and let everyone understand motherhood (ok, that’s overstated haha). But really I was surprised that the biggest and trustworthy dictionary only provides a brief description to mother.

Motherhood is nothing less than experiencing a spectrum of ALL emotions you can possibly imagine (all mothers can agree with me on this). It is more than being a superhero at its sense that you can rise to any occurrence that involves your offspring. The phrase ‘I can move a mountain’ don’t sound so crazy after all when you are a mother. It is experiencing joy while facing the hardest falls. A mother literally lifts herself up and stretches herself beyond unimaginable limits of life’s adventures and still feeling good just with a thought of her child/children.

Giving birth is such an occasion when all mothers are tested for their love and I have been through it once. After being cut open, I feel weak and in so much pain after the anaesthesia worn off but my heart and my mind is still high with so much happiness that I cannot contain. The sentiment and emotion is more that winning the lottery jackpot. My nerve endings are raw and exposed and it is my greatest achievement. I have successfully brought an angel into this world.

Today is 8th of May 2016 and let us all unite to HONOUR ALL MOTHERS (biological, non-biological, surrogate) and celebrate the gift of life. I am giving my highest gratitude to my Mom for being so brave and loveable and of course for helping me raise Danna. I love you so much Mommy! And to all moms out there, let’s rock the world!
